Hello friends !

You decided to have your own thread for „Crew Post” or “Besatzungspost” – accepted! We have here an important advantage: not only “Bordpost” suits here; there are many other documents, where we can find signatures of crew-members.

Let me begin with Albert Sammt, the “Ballon-Ingenieur” (maybe somebody knows the translation) of “Graf Zeppelin”, who produced this very special Brazilian postcard. By the way: the only one without a normal Brazilian Vovo-stamp, what I ever have seen. But I think, that this card never was in the hands of a Brazilian post office clerk.

I guess, that it would be a rather interesting discussion, how to evaluate such an article … :?

Hello pasol !

Thanks for showing your interesting crew post: I didn’t know the handwriting of Speck and A.Lehmann (who apparently is not identic with captain E.A. Lehmann); he probably quitted the Zeppelin-crew and maybe moved to Fräulein Getrud Lieske in Stuttgart to work there in the Café Paulinenstüble – I hope it for him … ;)

Best greetings
Alfred

Hello Alfred,
thank you for your support and understanding. Your post I will too not forget. Albert Sammt is really famous Zeppeliner.
His position in crew in this flight Mr.P.Russell translates as "gas cell maintenance supervisor".
Beautiful card ("take off my hat"), and it has not Vovo-stamp really! Before I don't see this pearl. Respect.
Regards,
pasol.

Thanks, pasol, for this perfect translation (and - of course - for your compliments!)

Here comes the next question: Mr. Sammt had an assistant, the "Zellenpfleger" (?) L. Knorr. This guy also created very "special" documents of this flight.
We can see, that the crew members had access to the tools of the post office clerks ...

Greetings!
Alfred
