Dear friends,

it is once more postcard, it was sent from board of LZ-127 "Graf Zeppelin" at September 10th, 1930 during the Russia Landing Flight 1930 by crew member Max Pruss to his son Klaus.

Best regards,
pasol.

Hello. In a recent thread was shown an unknown senders pieces of mail, pasol wrote "I don't know exactly, who is the author of postcards above... :( But I think he is a crew member of LZ-127"Graf Zeppelin" Oskar Fink :?:, well recently i found this Postcard (not my own) which looks like it was sent by the same person, and for the first time there is a signature on the back :o . I have never seen this signature before (Bishen?), maybe some other members recognise the signature ;) .

Dear TALLTREES,

Thanks for partnership! ;) I know this postcard...

About your question:
I think the inscription on reverse side isn't name of crew member or passenger. I read it: " Gruss ("zum" or "aus") Buchau". :?:
I think, it is a name of town - Buchau.

Best regards,
pasol.

Hello. "WERE BACK" :D . Good to see that were back online and can continue posting new threads :) . Here is an interesting Postcard sent by/to crew member "FRANZ HERZOG" (?) at the Zeppelin works Friedrichshafen on the 1932 Schweizfahrt (250 flight), Liechtenstein post, with special Liechtenstein Air set franking, and with 2 special Blue flight confirmation stamps. Interesting piece which is also signed on the back by Zeppelin Captain "Hans Von Schiller".

Interesting! That does indeed look like it's addressed to a Franz Herzog - I wonder if it's the same Franz Herzog who was a navigator on the Hindenburg? I'm trying to figure out the path through which he came to be one of the Hindenburg's officers. I've not been able to find a single listing for him on the steamship crew lists in the immigration forms on Ancestry.com, which leads me to believe that perhaps he wasn't hired away from the Hamburg-Amerika line the way newer officers like Zabel, Ziegler and Boetius were.

I see something-"ingenieur" on the address line above Herzog's name on this card. Can anyone decipher the first part of that word? I'm wondering if he was a member of the LZ construction works crew, or perhaps a flight engineer aboard the Graf Zeppelin. It wasn't unheard of for men to go from skilled labor with LZ to a crew position on one of the airships. Ludwig Felber, who stood watch as an elevatorman on the last flight, started off working on the LZ 129's construction crew (as a riveter, if I recall correctly.)

This is all assuming, of course, that the Franz Herzog to whom this card is addressed is the same one who flew on the Hindenburg!
