Venzuela Behrens card

Venzuela Behrens card

Beitragvon robbrum » 4. Feb 2010, 22:07

Who knows why this card is send to Chile, see on the left top corner in red "via Chile" and what means the Letter T in black and small in red??? There is also B.1,60 on the left top corner ????

On the back side is the postmark of Santiago Chile 29-V-30-16

It looks to me that this card is prepared for South Amerika flight on the leg from Pernambuco Friedrichshafen see the violet description on the left side in the middle.

But related to the postmark on the backside with the date 29-V-30 it was at that time arrived in Santiago only the Graf Zeppelin was already on his way to Lakehurst.

I think that it is send by boat or airmail to Germany???

Who has some other idea's please your comment.

I find some information about this card in the handbook of Mr Berezowski.

On page 79 he wrote: Es existieren noch Flugbriefe aus Venezuela adgesandt am 19. Mai in Caracas Venezuela unf fur die Luftschiffbeforerung bestimmt. Die briefe langten jedoch erst am 19. Mai in Santiago Chile. That must be a printed error and I think it must be 29th of May.

The Venezuela non-flown mail comes also with a red three-line cachet for a SABENA first flight in South America. I am not aware of such an early SABENA activity in South America and I could not find any information in the corresponding Belge airmail literature. To me the three-line marking looks more like a later addition to enhance the cover.
